As a member of the Board of Trustees, Philip Blumberg worked with his colleagues on the Board to elevate the University of Miami to national prominence for its outstanding scholastic achievement and leadership in research.

With its more than 15,000 students from all over the globe and 10,000 faculty members, the University of Miami is one of the nations leading higher education institutions and an asset to the surrounding community.

From its modest beginnings in 1926 with only 560 students, the University has exploded into a vibrant, dynamic community of talented multicultural individuals committed to the virtue of learning and sharing knowledge. In addition to its main location in Coral Gables, the University now offers a medical campus and the James L. Knight Center in Downtown Miami, the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science on Virginia Key, the John J. Koubek Center in Little Havana, and the South and Richmond campuses in southwest Miami-Dade county.

Ranked among the nation’s “Best Colleges” by U.S. News and World Report, the University of Miami attracts some of the countries top scholastic achievers.
